On the 15th March 1976 Abba's "Fernando" entered the Australian singles chart where it took only 4 weeks to reach number 1 where it stayed for an amazing 14 weeks. In total the single spent 40 weeks in the charts (including a further three weeks at number 2 after moving off the top spot) eventually being certified 25 x Gold.
Unsurprisingly "Fernando" was the biggest selling single in Austria in 1976 however Abba had 7 records in the 1976 year end chart -
