During this week in 1976 Abba's "Greatest Hits" album was at the start of a nine week run at the top of the UK album chart. The top 5 albums this week in 1976 were as follows -

1. Abba "Greatest Hits"
2. The Rolling Stones "Black And Blue"
3. Wings "Wings At The Speed Of Sound"
4. Rock Follies "Original Television Soundtrack"
5. Various Artists "Instrumental Gold"

The album would eventually be replaced at the top of the chart by Rod Stewart's "A Night On The Town" on the 10th July however it would return to the top of the charts for another two weeks in October 1976.
